Favoritism Is Alive and Well In The Umpire's Circle

These comments by Datuk Ahmad Basri Akil sum up our thoughts on a few of the umpires who we deemed their biased judgment calls were due to Anti-East or Stereotypical perspectives on certain specie of homo sapient.NST, 2nd August 2007

Banzai's Brunei National Open

PLK Zombies are the Champions by beating Black Arrows 8-4 in an exciting but wet final, 3rd and 4th place goes to Gunners and Gregor. Me, Peter, FaLee, Ryan, Sung, Kiaw, Shien were there to watch the game live and we met many Brunei friends on that night. The pitching of Kalai (Zombies) was super fast and he was voted men's MVP.

Eratech Enterprise Men Softball Tournament organised by PLK Zombies Softball Club

December 16-17, 2006
We may looked cool, but we were trashed 1-7 & 1-13 by Zombies and Wanderers
Extracted from ranoadidas.com:

Coca-Cola Gunners did it again after lifting their “ummptenth” title last Sunday in the Eratech Softball title organised by PLZ Zombies. Ironically, it was the organisers that was playing in the finals against the favourites Coca-Cola Gunners. The final score was 7-2 to Coca-Cola Gunners. Captain of Gunners, Wan Tambrin claimed that the players were slightly relaxed during the final game. Earlier on Coca-Cola Gunners thrashed JAG 21-3.

PLK Zombies “A” beat Banzai in the semi-finals 6-1. Credit to them for organising a successful tournament and hopefully there will be more tournaments next year. JAG, one of the most improved team of the year, finished 3rd after beating Banzai 7-2. Sorry guys for not attending any of the matches since I had to organise my own Pro Evo Soccer Tournament. Hence, there will be no pictures unless if anyone wants to contribute, by all means :)

Landslide Victory is how I would describe it

Hooray !

Every Way We Go, People Wanna Know
Who We Are, Where We Come From
So We Tell Them, We Are The ST CO
The Mighty, Mighty ST CO !
And With Aplenty of Jokers Around !

They were out-classed, out-batted, out-stealed, out-witted and out everything I can think of by the St. Columba boys. SMK luak 18-2, SMK Chung Hua 18-0, SMK Baru 14-3 (Semi) and SMK Luar Bandar 9-1 (Final). The record speaks for itself, only conceding 6 runs throughout the Inter School Softball Tournament held on 16th and 17th April at Kolej Tuanku Hj Bujang.

Greg stood out amongst all as a class on his own, with 26 strike outs (average of 2.36 per inning) ! he is much more mature, physically and mentally prepared this round.

The Pitcher Supremo - Greg Pengiran

A few close friends told me that St Co won because of our superior pitching, and there's no doubt about it guys... That was the sole reason why Oilers and Stealers were trashed in Brunei, September 05 and December 06 ( more on Stealers' trip to Brunei when I'm free ). In softball, a good pitcher will relieve the burden of defense by approx. 50%, and in St Co's case, at least 75%. ! On the offensive, every player did their part well and on the hindsight, defense were not truly tested though they were well prepared for it. I did have confidence that if we use our 2nd pitcher Adam, we would have won too but by conceding more runs, but I chose Greg for the 'Shock and Awe' effect, setting new standards for the inter school competition and for the rest of schools to emulate in future tournaments.

After victory,it's time for creative posture

As for the girls team.....

The girls had a disappointed outings, mainly due to the fact that it was organized only 2-3 weeks before the tournament, reaping what we sow, SMK Lutong 9-10, SMK Luar Bandar 5-18. It was an enjoyable experience and good exposure for these girls.

at the mean time, a few of these Jenny Finch prototypes are in the R & D department, awaiting calibration, QA/QC inspection for mass production in year 2008, we shall see how it goes.... ;-) Insha Allah.

Results :

Boys : Champion : St Columba, 1st Runner Up - Luar Bandar, 2nd Runner Up - Baru
Girls : Champion : Kolej, 1st Runner Up - Luar Bandar, 2nd Runner Up - Teknik

Overall Champion : SMK Luar Bandar

Cheerio...
